When we thought of adding chicken and wine recipes to our website, our friends' at "Taste Wine and Enjoy" wanted to share a few tips to help you choose a wine for your favorite chicken recipe.

Chicken being one of the most popular menu items in every corner of the globe. With so many cultures,
hundreds of spices and a myriad of flavors these wine pairing tips will help you choose the perfect wine.

There is no need to feel intimidated about finding the right wine since wine pairing is very subjective and is not an exact science. Drinking the wine you like will probably be the wine you enjoy most. But do keep in mind these few simple tips.

Cooking Instructions:

The Basic "Food Tips"
1. the flavors (spices, etc.),
2. the sauce (cream, tomato, lemon, etc.),
3. the cooking method (grilled, poached, fried, etc.) of the dish you are preparing.

Poached Chicken might have light citrus flavors which calls for a light to medium white wine such as Pinot
Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc.

Chicken with cream sauces need a fuller body white such as Chardonnay.

Roasted chicken flavors will be well served with a medium red wine such as Pinot Noir.

Grilled Chicken and a fuller bodied red wine such as Zinfandel or Syrah will be a good match.

Remember to drink what you like, but keep in mind the foods you will be eating and match lighter foods with light wines and hearty foods with full body wines.
